A man has been airlifted to hospital after he was rescued when he fell down a hillside in the Peak District.

The incident happened near Ilam Moor Lane in Ilam, Staffordshire, shortly after 10:30 BST on Wednesday.

The Peak District Mountain Rescue team found the man on the side of a hill about 100m from ground level, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

He was treated for potentially serious injuries, a spokesperson added, before rescuers lowered him to the ground using a rope system.
