Louis Tomlinson and Lewis Capaldi have been revealed as two of the big names joining Radio 1’s Live Lounge month.

Reneé Rapp, Demi Lovato and Robbie Williams are also on the line-up for the specials, which air on the station every year.

Each Live Lounge guest traditionally performs one of their own songs, plus a cover of a track by a different artist.

This year Lewis, who recently returned from a two-year break in performing, will perform three extra tracks on a special late edition of the Live Lounge.

Appearing on Greg James’ Breakfast Show, the singer told the host he was “excited” to be joining the line-up, but admitted to feeling pressure in the lead-up.

A performance from Olivia Dean kicks off this year’s Live Lounge month on 29 September, with the final show from Florence and the Machine on 3 November.

The sessions will air on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at noon during Rickie, Melvin and Charlie’s Radio 1 show.

The hosts said: “It’s always such a special time on Radio 1 – artists stripping things back, surprising us with covers you’d never expect, and creating those unforgettable moments that only the Live Lounge can bring.”

Some of the biggest names in music have performed in the Live Lounge over the years, including Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande.

Performances from Miley Cyrus, 30 Seconds To Mars, Dua Lipa and Bruno Mars have each attracted more than 50 million views on Radio 1’s YouTube channel.
